Quads Chess Tournament Series

🕙 Start Time: Round 1 Starts at 10:00 AM. Following rounds begin ASAP

⏳Time Control: 25 minutes with 5 seconds increment. 3 rounds

🎯 Format: 

Quads Chess Tournament – Players are grouped in quads (groups of 4), based on their rating. Each Player plays 3 round-robin games – one against each opponent in their group. This format ensures all players face opponents closest to their own rating, making it one of the most balanced and competitive formats.

🏆 Prizes

Trophy for the winner of each quad.

Year-End Awards:

Top 3 players with the highest cumulative points across the Grand Prix series.

Special prize for the highest USCF rating gain over the series.

💲Entry fee: $20 

Limited seats available – early registration is strongly recommended!

Who Can Play: Open to all Scholastic chess players – rated and unrated players welcome!

Especially great for scholastic players looking to grow competitively.

First Saturday Online Grand Prix Series (USCF-Rated)

Join our monthly online tournament series – designed for all K-12 chess players who love to compete, learn and grow!

Overview

The First Saturday Online Grand Prix is a seven-tournament scholastic series open to all K-12 students nationwide.

Each monthly event offers its own prize and also counts toward the overall Grand Prix leaderboard. Players may join any number of tournaments.

Schedule

  • Platform: lichess.org
  • Time control: G/15; +5 seconds increment
  • Start Time: 10 AM EST
  • Format: 4 rounds Swiss
  • Dates: November 1, 2025; December 6, 2025; January 3, 2026; February 7, 2026; March 7, 2026; April 4, 2026; May 2 2026.
  • Entry fee: $20

🏆 Prizes

  • 1st place winner of each tournament: One free private online lesson with WFM Bahar Hallayeva (An exclusive opportunity to learn directly from a titled chess master!)

🏆🏅Grand Prix Points and Series Awards

Players earn Grand Prix points in each tournament. Cumulative points across all seven events determine the Overall Grand Prix Winners:

  • 1st place: Trophy + 3 months of Chess for Everyone weekly online classes ($300 value)
  • 2nd place: Trophy + 2 months of Chess for Everyone weekly online classes ($200 value)
  • 3rd place: Trophy + 1 month of Chess for Everyone weekly online classes ($100 value)

Eligibility

  • Open to all K-12 students
  • Players may join any number of tournaments to qualify for Grand Prix prizes
  • This tournament will be USCF online quick rated. An active USCF membership is required. You can join the USCF or renew an expired USCF membership at this link:  http://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess. You can choose 1 or 2 years plan.
  • Before signing up for the tournament, please register for a free https://lichess.org account. Please provide your lichess username in the “Lichess username” field when you complete the registration form.

Fair Play Policy

  • Games are played on lichess.org
  • No outside assistance or chess engines allowed
  • Violations may lead to disqualification
